Introductlon
ThlS report transmlts the attached ordlnance for
lntroduct1on for flrst readlng and publlC hearlng.
Background
Sectlon 5237C of the Santa l10nlca Mun1c1pal Code
currently provldes that rubb1sh may not be collected
between the hours of ten o'clock p.m. and SlX o'clock a.m.
of the next followlng day. The attached ord1nance would
modlfy thlS to permit rubblsh collect1on between the
hours of three o'clock a.m. and SIX o'clock a.m. of
each day lD the M-l and M-2 zones only. Such collect1on
lS made cond1tlonal upon there beIng no co11ect1on
between three o'clock and SlX o'clock a.m. at any pOlnt
wlthln a radlus of f1ve hundred feet from a bUlldlng
located In other than an M-1 or M-2 zone or w1thIn a
radlus of flve hundred feet from any resIdentlal dwelllng
regardless of where such dwelllng 15 located.
