A left turn pocket exists at the north side of Santa Monica Boulevard on Lincoln, and one is badly needed on the south side, Eight on-street parking spaces wlll necessarily be removed by the installation of the left turn pocket. Twenty- eight on-street parking spaces will remain to serve the publlC. In addition. there are more than 100 off-street parking spaces available in the immediate area (within 100 feet). The benefits derived for the community at large would be substantial since such an installation would result in less energy use and would result in lower pollution levels.
