Introduction
Th1S report 1S requesting City Councll to authorlze and approprlate $7,000.00
for the purpose of reconstructing 100 feet of Lincoln Court Just north of
Wilshire Blvd. ThlS S7,000 is one-half the total cost. Fam11y Savlngs and
Loan Association 1S flnancing the other 57,000.00
Background
Llncoln Savings and Loan Assoclation lS constructing a new bui1d1ng on the
north east corner of Lincoln and Wi1sh1re. During the General Servlces plan
check reV1ew. Family Savlngs and Loan was adv1sed the 20' wide alley in back
of the1r fac11ity would have to be reconstructed with cement concrete pavewent.
They were also lnformed a recommendation for shar1ng the cost of the alley
reconstructlon equally between Family Savings and Loan and the Clty would be
made Other developers have been requ1red to pave to the center11ne of streets
and alleys. thus the recommendat10n for 50% particlpatlon by developer. By
letter dated October 3. 1980 (attached). Illig Construct1on Company informed the
Clty and the Association they would do the required work for 514.009.06. Staff
is of the op1nion that S14,000 1S a fair and reasonable amount for thlS alley
reconstruction work. It is in the C1ty'S interest to partic1pate 1n the
reconstruction of a new alley.

Here ~s our proposal to repave Lincoln Court ~mmediately
east of Family Savings and Loan ASSOClation. Per city
of Santa Mon~ca's letter to Mr. Richard A. Schaub dated
May 21, 1980. (Copy of letter enclosed)
Cost ~ncludes demoltion and removal of ex~st~ng asphalt.
The work to be preformed for the sum of $14,009.06.
Cost does not include any perm~t fees requ~red by the
c~ty.
Based on your acceptance of sharing the cost with Fam~ly
Savings and Loan Association. With your authorizat~on
to preform the work, we will b~ll Famlly Sav~ngs for the
full cost, and your share to be pa~d to Family Savlngs.
As we would llke to beg~n the work very soon. Would
you please reply at your earl~est convience.
