SUBJECT: Amendment to Street Resurfac1ng Project: Ocean Avenue Between
Montana and Colorado Avenues; Twenty-th1rd Street Between
Ashland Avenue and Dewey Street
Introduction
Th1S report requests C1ty Counc1l extend the street resurfac1ng proJect to
lnclude Ocean Avenue between Montana and Colorado Avenues and Twenty-th1rd
Street between Ashland Avenue and Dewey Street w1th funds previously appro-
pr1ated 1n the amount of $400,000.
Background
A Change Order 1n the amount of approx1mately $300,000 of the ~400,OOO
prevlously authorlzed has been 1ssued.
Wlth the remalnlng funds, approxlmately $138,000, addltlonal street lmprovements
are requested to be added by Change Order to the Street Resurfaclng Contract
awarded to Sully-Mlller on June 24, 1980 (Item 6-E-17). These changes would
1nclude resurfaclng and gutter construction on Twenty-thlrd Street between
Ashland Avenue and Dewey Street and on Ocean Avenue between Montana and
Colorado Avenues after completlon of the street narrow1ng by the same contractor.
Recommendat1on
It 1S recommended City Counc1l approve the resurfac1ng of Ocean Avenue between
Montana and Colorado Avenues and to the amount of funds avallable, Twenty-thlrd
Street between Ashland Avenue and Dewey Street.
