1984-85 County "AId to CItIes" Gas Tax Program
Introduction
ThIS report requests that CIty Councll adopt tte attacted
resolutIon requestIng the Los Angeles County Board of SupervIsors
allocate "Aid to Cities" GasolIne Tax Funds in the awount of
$99,584 to the City of Santa MonIca for the purpose of perforwlng
certaIn street walntenance work.
Background
Eact year the County approprIates a portIon of Gas Tax Fu~ds to
Santa MonIca for the purpose of maintalnlng the "Select System"
streets. ThIS year tte appropr1atIon set by the County for Santa
MonIca IS $399,584.
The Cou~ty's HTC Program wIll allocate
$300,000 to the CIty v~a a separate process. In order to receIve
the balance of $99,584 frow the County, the CouncIl ~ust ~ake a
formal request each year.
Tte staff planned in the 1984-85
budget to use these funds to supplewent CIty Gas Tax for
resurfacing a nuwber of CIty streets.

receIving $99,584 In "AId to CItIes" Gas Tax Funds. The
allocatIon 1S $61 lower ttan tee budget estlwate for Gas Tax
Revenues.
As a result, the budget revenue est1wate 1n Account
No. 43-905-090-000-000 stould be decreased by $61.00.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUf"JCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA REQUESTING AN ALLOCATION AND
PAYMENT OF COUNTY AID TO CITIES FUNDS FOR THE
MAINTENANCE OF SELECT STREETS (1984-85)
WHEREAS, the C1 ty Counc 11 des1res to expend tt.e amount
of $99,584 of sa1d funds accrued to the C1ty for the maintenance
of streets on the CIty'S approved Select System,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. Tte
County of Los Angeles
is hereby
requested to allocate $99,584 of the Aid to Cltles (A.T.C.) funds
apportIoned to the CIty for tte rralntenance of those streets on
the currently approved Select Syste~ of streets (eXCludIng State
HIghways) on file wIth the Department of TransportatIon, State of
CalIfornia, and Incorporated hereIn by reference.
SECTION 2. After the allocation is approved by the
Board of Supervlsors and funds are avaIlable, the County 1S
requested to send suet: allocated a:r.ount to tl:e CIty. Tt:e City
wlll beg In using the funds for the street realntenance accord Ing
to the terms of the allocatIon.
SECTION 3. Tte CIty Engineer shall forward a certIfled
copy of this Resolution to the Los Angeles Coun~-r DIrector of
Public Works for proceSSIng.
