authorIty to set a speed greate:- that 25 mph upon the baSIS of
an englnee:-l~g and tr afflc su;vey that fInd s that such a cha"\ge

The posted speed lImit on MaIn St:-eet between PICa Boul ev a-d
and the south CIty lImIts 15 35 mph. CIty staff recently
completed an engineerIng and traffIC survey on MaIn Str-eet. The
a'1alysls of the data IndIcates the speed lImIt on Mal"! St:-eet
between Ocean Park Boulevard and the south CIty lImIts can De
JustIfIed to be -educed to 30 mph.
O'1e of the major reasons why vehl.cula:- speeds have dropped on
MaI'1 Street south of Ocea"1 Park Boul ev a-d has been the
InstallatIon of traffIC slg~als at the l!1te:-sectIOP1S of HIll
Street, Ashla"1d Avenue and Ma:-lne Street and the removal of a
trafflc SIgnal at PIe~ Avenue. These add It lonal traffIC slg'1als
