TO: Mayor and /} ".__-1 '_ FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Request to Appropriate Funds fO~~~?e~Enterprise Introduction This is a request to appropriate $50,000 from Refuse Fund unappropriated fund balance to fund bin purchases and repairs for the remainder of the 1981/82 fiscal year. Background Prior to the 1981/82 budget year, the purchase of refuse bins, bin parts, and bin repairs were not budgeted. Purchases were charged directly against revenue. At the close of the 1980/81 fiscal year, it was determined that this was not appropriate and that bin purchases and repairs be made from Operations and Supplies accounts in the Refuse Enter- prise budget. However, the current Refuse Enterprise budget was prepared without including accounts for bin purchases and repa1rs. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council appropriate $50~OOO from the Refuse Fund unappropriated fund balance for refuse bin needs for the remainder of the fiscal year.
