Background This ordinance was introduced by Council as Item 8e at its December 10, 1980 meeting. contlnued from ltS December 9~ 1980 Meetlng. The report stated the necessary appropriation to facllitate the converS1on would be 1ncluded in the staff report. The proposed ordlnance increases rates in Zone C in two dlfferent ways. It amends Section 3393C to change the meter rate from $.05 an hour to $.10 an hour withln Parking Meter Zone C. It also removes a small area (Ocean Park Boulevard between 25th Street and Centlnela Avenue and all streets intersectlng Ocean Park Boulevard from that intersectlon to a point 300 feet north). This increases meter rates wlth1n that area from $.05 an hour (Zone C) to $.25 an hour (Zone D). The proposed changes require an allocatlon of $67.500 from the parking meter reserve funds. RecomPlendatlOn It 15 recommended that Clty Counell adopt the proposed ordinance raislng the 56 parking meter rates 1n certain areas of the City and appropriate $67.500 from the parklng meter reserve fund to facilitate the parking meter conversion.
