Subject: Increase of Parking Meter Rates Adjacent to City Hall and on Main
Street between Pico Boulevard and Colorado Avenue from lO~ to 25c

Introductlon
This report recommends City Council instruct the City Attorney to prepare an
ordlnance lncreaslng the parking meter rates on Main Street between Pica
Boulevard and Colorado Avenue from 10~ per hour to 25, per hour.
Background
One of the Parklng and Traffic Divlslon's goals for the 1980-81 Fiscal Year
is to review and revise parking meter rates City wide. All the parking
meters on Ocean Avenue, Main Street south of Pico Boulevard, and in the
Central BUSlness District are 25c per hour.
Staff proposes to increase the parklng Meter rates on Main Street between
Pica Boulevard and Colorado Avenue, and the parking lot adjacent to City
Hall from lOC to 25c per hour.
It should be noted. in the lot south of City Hall, parking meter rates may
be established by resolutlon. The resolution will be presented at the second
readlng of the ordinance to change the on-street parking meter rates.
Recommendation
It 1S recommended City Council instruct the Clty Attorney to prepare an
ordinance and resolution lncreasing the parking meter rates on Main Street
between Pico Boulevard and Colorado Avenue, and in the lot south of City
Hall from lOt to 25c per hour.
