SUBJECT: Ord1nance Increasing Parking Meter Rates
on Ma1n Street Between Colorado Avenue and
Pico Boulevard
On July 21, 1981, the accompanying ordinance was
introduced for first read1ng. It is now presented to the
C1ty Council for adopt1on.
RECOMMENDATION
It 18 respectfully recommended that the accompanying
ord1nance be adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AMENDING SECTION 3393A OF THE SANTA
MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ORDAINS AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Sectlon 3393A of the Santa Monlca Municlpal
Code is amended to read as follows:
Section 3393A. Parkln9 Meter Zone
"An.
(1) The
following
named
and
descrlbed streets or portions of streets
within the City shall constitute Zone
"AQ, namely:
(a) All of Ocean Avenue and all
streets southwesterly thereof, lncludlng
the municlpa1 pler, and excluding the
area bounded by pica Boulevard to the
South Clty llmits, Nellson Way to Ocean
Avenue-Barnard Way, ~ncluslve;
(b) All streets lYlng within the
area bounded by Ocean Avenue, Llncoln
Boulevard, Callfornia Avenue and Colorado
Avenue,
including both sides of the
boundary streets with the exceptlon of

Lincoln Boulevard which shall not be
included in this Zone;
(c) All of W1lshlre
the easterly city limits

(d) All of MaIn Street between
Colorado Avenue and Pico Boulevard.
( 2) Parking a vehlcle in a
designated space 1n Zone "A" shall be
lawful fo l" 60 minutes upon the deposit of
25 cents in COln, and for an addltional
60 minutes for each 25 cents ln COln
deposlted thereafter.
(3) Parking meters shall be
operated in Zone nAn every day between
the hours of 9;00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
SECTION 2. Any provision of the Santa Monica Municipal
Code or appendlces thereto inconsistent herewlth, to the extent
of such lnconslstenCles and no further, are hereby repealed or
modified to that extent necessary to effect the provisions of
thIS ordinance.
SECTION 3. This ordlnance, and each part hereof, shall be
fully severable. If any part of this ordinance 1S declared to be
invalid for any reason, such declaratlon of invalldity shall not
affect the remaining parts of this ordlnance.
SECTION 4. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of thls ordinance. The City Clerk shall

cause the same to be published once in the official newspaper
within fifteen (IS) days after lts adoption. The ordinance shall
become effective after thlrty (30) days from lts adoptlon.
