Proposed Parking Meter Installatlons
INTRODUCTION
ThlS report recommends Clty Counc~l ~n5truct the Clty Attorney
to prepare an ordlnance establlshing time, rates and zones for
parklng meters to be installed on various commerclal streets.
BACKGROUND
At the June 22nd Clty Council Meeting the City Council adopted
the City Budget which included the installation of 1100 new
parking meters on Wilshire from Ocean Avenue to City l1mits,
Santa Monica Boulevard from Ocean Avenue to Clty limits, Pico
Boulevard from Ocean Avenue to Clty limlts, Olymp~c Boulevard
from Lincoln to City limits and Lincoln Boulevard from Wilshire
to South City limits. To facilitate the installation of the
park~ng meters, the eXlsting parking meter zones need to be
modified.
The proposed new meters are recommended to be 25 cents per
hour between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through
Saturday. In addition, the exist~ng on-street parking meters in
the Ma~n Street area effective hours are recommended to be
changed from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.,
dally.

RECOMMENDATION
