Introduetlon
ThlS report presents an ordlnance for lntroductlon
and flrst readlng by the Clty Councll establlshlng hourly
parklng rate lncreases on certaln streets ln the beach area.
Background
The Clty Councll, at ltS neetlng of November 14, 1978,
approved the staff report reconuuendlng the lnstallatl.on of land-
scaped lslands on Ocean Avenue between P1CO Boulevard and
Blcknell Avenue.
In adoptlng thlS recommendatlon It also
approved lncreaslng the hourly parklng meter rate froITl ten
cents per hour to 25 cents per hour In the beach parklng area
(P1CO Blvd. to the south Clty Llmlts, Nellson Way to Ocean
Avenue - Barnard ''>Jay, lncluslve). Attached lS a copy of an
ordinance lMplementing thlS recommendatlon. Staff submlts this
proposed ordlnance to COUDCll for lntroductlon and flrst readlng.

It 15 recommended that the Clty Council lntroduce for
flrst readlng the attached ordinance.
