Introductlon
ThIS report recommends the CIty CouncIl direct the CIty At-
torney to prepare an ordInance establIshIng the area bounded by
Colorado Avenue, 4th Street. LIncoln and OlympIC Boulevards for
on-street parking permits.
Background
The area bounded by Colorado Avenue, ~th Street. Lincoln and
OlympIC Boulevard contaIns land uses and parkIng problems that
are very SImIlar to an existIng on-street permi t parking zone
bounded by Colorado Avenue, the east CIty limIts, LIncoln and
OlympIC Boulevards (see attached map).
Both have lIght In-
dustrlal bUSInesses which are dependent upon on-street parkIng
for employee parkIng.
Several of the area bUSInesses have requested that the on-
street parkIng perml t program be expanded beyond the ex isting
zone to Incorporate the area bounded by Colorado Avenue, Fourth
street t L Incoln Boulevard and 01 ympic Boul evard. PermIts wIth in
the zone are Issued on a request baSIS by the Trafflc Engineer.
Each request for a perml t is revIewed for lts impact on nearby
properties. Permits for on-street parkIng In metered spaces will

revenues will be deposIted In revenue account numbers 01-902-030-
000-000.
