SUBJECT: Resolution Establishing a Parking Meter
Permlt Area Pursuant to Municipal Code
Section 3396 for the Area Bounded by
Colorado Avenue, Fourth Street, Lincoln
Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard
At its meeting on July 24, 1984, the City Council
directed
the
City
Attorney
to
prepare a resolution
establishing the area bounded by Colorado Avenue, Fourth
Street, Lincoln Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard as a parking
meter permit area.
Municipal Code Section 3396, adopted on June 28, 1983,
provides:

Notwithstanding any other
provision of this Code, any person may
park a vehicle at designated parking
spaces
in
the
City wlthout the
necessity of depositing coins in the
meters
adjacent
to
such
space,
provided said vehicle has displayed in
the manner required by the Traffic and
Parking Engineer a permit issued by

the City authorizing the vehicle to
park in the space without the
necessity of depositing such coins and
pro~ided the parking meter displays a
sign authorizing parking permits at
such meter. The areas in which such
parking permits may be used and the
fees for the issuance of parking
permits shall be established by
resolution of the City Council.
Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3396, the
accompanYing resolution establishes a parking permit area for
the area bounded by Colorado Avenue~ Fourth Street~ Lincoln
Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard. The fee for such a permit is
also established at $10.00.
RECOKMENDATIO~
It is respectfully recommended that the accompanying
resolution be adopted.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL O? THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING A PARKING METER
PERMIT AREA BOUNDED BY COLORADO AVENUE, FOURTH
STREET, LINCOLN BOULEVARD AND OLYMPIC BOULEVARD
AND THE PERMIT FEE OF $10.00 PER MONTH
WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 3396 authorizes the City
Council to designate specific meters for the use of parking
permits in areas designated by resolutionj and
WHEREAS, the Traffic and parking Engineer has determined
that the area bounded by Colorado Avenue, Fourth Street,
Lincoln Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard is an appropriate area
for parking meter permits,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUHCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The area bounded by colorado Avenue, Fourth
Street, Lincoln Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard is hereby
established as a parking meter permit area.
SECTION 2. The parking meter permit fee shall be $10.00
per month.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
