INTRODUCTION
Thls report trans~lts for flrst readlng a proposed
ordlnance amendlng Sectlon 3393D of the Santa Monlca
HUDlclpa1 Code to expand Parking ~eter Zone D
to l.nclude
28th and 31st Streets. This proposed ordr.nance was requested
by staff as Item 6-L and approved by Council at the
May 27, 1980 meeting.
BACKGROUND
The streets were origlnally deslgned to facllltate
two lanes of trafflc In each dlrectlon with parallel
parklng on both sldes of the streets. Parklng wlll be In-
stalled after the flrst ~aJor drlveway on both sr.des
of 28th and 31st Streets south of Ocean Park Boulevards.
The cost of lnstallatlon wlll be S33,400 avallable
In the Parking Meter Fund.

The Council ~ay accept, relect or amend the proposed
ord lnanc e .
RECOW"IENDAT IONS
It is respectfully recomended the Councll lntroduce
the ordlnance expandlng Parklng ~eter Zone D. A resolutlon
allocatlng funds to thls proJect wl11 be presented at the
second readlng.
