Authorlzatlon to Lease Storage 1n Parking Structure #4
Introductlon
ThlS report recommends that the City Manager be authorlzedt~call for proposals for
a month-to-month lease of a storage room in Parking Structure #4.
Background
Each of the six eXlsting parking structures has a store rOOm of approximately
750 square feet on the ground floor. Some of these store rooms are used by
the General SerVlces Department maintenance personnel, some are used by the
Pollee Department for storage. At least one of the store rooms is avallable
for other uses.
The store room in Parking Structure #4 is typical of each of the other
structures in that it is on the ground floor and adjacent to the alley. It
is not sUltable for most retail uses because it has very poor public access.
However. lt lS sUltable for services and/or non-flammable storage. A
dlstrlbutor for one of the Los Angeles newspapers has expressed an interest
1n renting thlS space for the market value on a month-to-month baS1S. No
improvements would have to be made.
