Backgro~
At the Septerrber 8th Special Parking Authori ty ~1eeting the
Parkl11g Authon ty ll1SUuCted Staff to revlevl Parklllg Lot 6 and
rec<m1TE11d if It should be converted from a Permit Parkmg Lot
to a publlC lot.
Parkmg Lot 6 is located i.mrediatel y north c f parkmg Structure
2 on second street beb..;een Broadway and Arizona. Presently rot 6
L; a pe:rr:ut Only Lot w~th 26 spaces. All oennits are sold on an
annual basls.
A recent study of the central business dlstrict llldlcates the
avallable on-street and off-street publlc parkmg lS at capaClty
in the area of Santa I.Druca Place. Publ1.c parking in Parklllg
structures 2 and 5 have parking occupallC'j' rates of 95 percent
and 91 percent, respectively. An occupancy rate of 90 r:ercent 1.5
considered capacJ..ty.

to provide 79 employee parking spaces J.n. both structures 2 and 5
for a total of 158 spaces. 'Ibis agreerrent reduces the number of
parking spaces available to the publJ..c.
