SR-508-000 (100) Ie .,. . . /J'J ..1$ ~T 1 0 1989 5&~--ooo GS:SS Council Meeting: october 10/ 1989 Santa Monica, California TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City staff SUBJECT: Resolution Setting a Public Hearing for November 14, 1989, on the Assessment of Costs to Repair Damaged Sidewalks, Driveways, and Curbs on Various streets (SR-89-150/151) Introduction This report requests that the City Council set a public hearing for November 14, 1989, to hear protests regarding the work and confirm the assessments of the cost to repair damaged sidewalks, driveways and curbs. Background On October 9, 1979, the City Council approved a sidewalk repair program which provided for property owner participation in the cost of repairing damaged sidewalks. Residential property owner participation is 50% of the cost of the repairs if the damage is related to tree roots i the City pays the remaining 50% of the repair cost. Property owners are assessed 100% of the cost if the damage is not related to tree roots and commercial property owners are assessed 100% of the cost regardless of the cause of the damage. Certain repair work has been completed at the fallowing addresses and the property owners I share of the cost is now due for the following properties: 3202 21st street, 3127 18th Street, 2107 Navy street, 2019 Navy street, 2519 california Avenue, 2501 California Avenue, 2507 California Avenue, 2201 Oak street, 2121 Oak street, 1306 Princeton street, 2618 Arizona Avenue, 1048 "-8 OCT 1 0 19PtS . . A hearing must be held pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 22, sections 5600 to 5630, of the streets and Highways Code of the state of California. A Resolution setting the public hearing for November 14, 1989, is attached. Budget/Financial Impact The financial analysis, which will indicate total revenues to be derived from this assessment district over the next two years, will be presented to City Council at the time of pUblic hearing. Recommendation It is recommended the City Council adopt the attached Resolution setting a public hearing for November 14, 1989, on the assessment of costs of the subject sidewalk repairs.
