Introduction
This report requests the Clty Councll to set a public hearlng for
January 13,
1981 to hear protests regarding the work and to
confirm the assessments on the gutter construct1on along Colorado
between Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard.
Background
On May 28,
1980, the City Councll ordered the construction of
concrete
gutters on Colorado from Ocean Avenue to L1ncoln
Boulevard (IteM 7B).
The work has been completed and property
owner's share of the costs will now be due. A public hearing must
be held pursuant to Section 5882 of the Callfornia Streets and
Hlghways Code.
A resolution setting the public hearing is
attached.
A Street Superintendent's Report, together with the
Assessment Roll, wlll be presented at the time of the publlC
hearlng.
Recommenda tlon
It 15 recomMended the City Council adopt the attached resolutlon
setting a public hearlng for January 13, 1981 on the assessment of
costs of Gutter Dlstrict No.2.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF S&~TA MONICA SETTING A
DATE TO HEAR ANY PROTESTS OR
OBJECTIONS TO THE CONFIRMATION OF
ASSESSMENTS IN GUTTER ASSESSMENT
DISTRICT NO. 2 ON COLORADO.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Superintendent of Streets will file
a report of work pursuant to Section 5882 of the Streets and
fIlghways Code of the State of California,
relatlng to the
construct.l.on
of certain improvements cOMpleted on: Colorado
between Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard, all within the Clty of
Santa Monia.
SECTION 2.
That pursuant to Section 5870, et seq. of
said Code, the Clty Council does hereby order and declare that on
the 13th day of January, 1981, in the Council Chambers of the City
Ha 11 ,
it w~ll hear and pass upon any and all ObJections or
protests to the Report of Work of the Superintendent of Streets,
and the amount of the assessment assigned against the real
property described ~n said report.
SECTIO~ 3. That all protests or obJections must be in
writing and filed with the City Clerk on or before the tiwe set
for hearing of protests and obJectlons.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to mail
notices, ~n the ~anner and for~ prescr~bed by law, of the adoption
of this resolution to all persons own.l.ng real property in the

assessment district whose naRes and
addresses appear on the last equalized assesswent roll for City
taxes or as known to the Clty Clerk.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
