SUBJECT: Public Hearing on Proposed Pavement Reconstruction of First Court
between Broadway and Colorado Avenue
Introduction
This report requests City Council hold a public hearing on the reconstruction
of Flrst Court between Broadway and Colorado Avenue.
Background
As a part of the Broadway Relief Sewer project, the contractor will reconstruct
the pavement of First Court between Broadway and Colorado Avenue wlth Portland
Concrete Cement. Presently, the alley is in very bad condition. Due to the
businesses and motels located on the alley, there is much heavy vehicular traffic.
Concrete reconstruction will provide a more durable and longer lastlng surface
and reduce future maintenance costs to the City.
In accordance wlth City policYt the property owners will be assessed for one-
half the cost of the reconstruction. This will amount to an estimated assessment
of $455600 per fifty foot lot.
Recommendation
It is recommended Clty Council:
1. Open the public hearing;
2. Close the public hearlng and overrule any protests; and
3. Adopt the resolution orderlng the work.
