ThlS report requests the Clty Councl1 set a publlC hearlng for
the assessment of costs of gutter construction on Wllshire
Boulevard between Ocean Avenue and 21st Street.
Background
On June 29, 1982, the City Councll ordered the constructlon of
concrete gutters on W1lshire Boulevard between Ocean Avenue and
21st Street.
The work has been completed and property owner~s
share of the costs will now be due.
A publlC hear1ng must be
held pursuant to Section 5882 of the Californla Streets and
Hl ghway Code.
A resolutlon setting the publlC hearlng 15
attached.
A Property Map and Assessment Roll will be presented
wlth the staff report at the time of the public hearing.
Recommendation
It lS recommended that the Clty Council adopt the attached
resolutlon settlng a publ1C hearing for July 26, 1983, on the
assessment of costs of gutter constructlon on Wllshlre Boulevard
between Ocean Avenue and 21st Street.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
ANY PROTESTS OR OBJECTIONS TO THE
CONFIRMATION OF ASSESSMENTS FOR GUTTER
CONSTRUCTION ON WILSHIRE BOULEVARD BETWEEN
OCEAN AVENUE AND 21ST STREET
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECT I ON 1.
That the Superintendent of Streets wlll
f11e a report of work pursuant to Sectlon 5882 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of Callfornia, relating to the
construction
of certain improvements completed on Wilshire
Boulevard between Ocean Avenue and 21st Street, all within the
Clty of Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Sectlon 5870, et seq. of
said Code, the City Councll does hereby order and declare that on
the 26th day of July, 1983, in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall, it will hear and pass upon any and all obJections or
protests to the report of work of the Superintendent of Streets,
and the amount of the assessment assigned agalnst the real
property descnbed i n said report.
SECTION 3. That all protests or objections must be in
writing and fil ed with the Clty Clerk on or before the tlme set
for hearing of protests and objections.
SECTION 4. The Clty Clerk is hereby directed to mail
notlces, ln the manner and form prescribed by law~ of the
adopt10n of thls resolutlon to all persons owning real property
in the hereinbefore descrlbed assessment district whose names and

addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll for Ci ty
taxes or as known to the Clty Clerk.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoptlon of this resolution~ and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be 1 n full force and effect.
