Introductlon
ThlS r e port requests the Clty Councll set a publlC heanng fo r
December 14, 1982, to hear protests regardlng the work and conflrm
the assessments of the cost to repalr damaged sldewalks, dn veways
and curbs.

On October 9, 1979, the Clty Councll approved a sldewalk repalr
program WhlCh provlded for property owner partlclpatlon 1 n the
cost of repalnng damaged sldewalks. Property owner partlclpatlon
1 s 50% of the cost of the repalrs If the damage 15 related to tree
roots; the City W 1 1 1 pay the remalnlng 50% of the cost of the
repa1r. Property own e rs are assessed 100% of the cost lf the
damage 1 s not related to tree roots.
Certaln repa 1 r work has been completed at the fol1owlng addresses
and the property owners1 share of the costs are now due: 135 San
Vlcente, 3043 Llnda Lane, 1610 Manne. 1612 Manne. 1621 Manne,
1615 Marl ne, 1607 Marine. 441 24th Street. 1435 Marine. 1663 Ocean
Avenue, 1717 Ocean Avenue and 1711 Ocean Avenue. A public heanng

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA SETTING A HEARING DATE FOR ANY
PROTESTS OR OBJECTIONS TO THE REPORT OF THE
SUPERI NTENDE NT OF STREETS REGARDING REPAIR OF
SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS AND CURBS. (SR-82-38)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Superintendent of Streets will h.le
a report of repa1r pursuant to Section 5617 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California. relating to the
construction of certa1n improvements to sidewalks and driveways at
135 San Vicente. 3043 Li nd a Lane, 1610 Marine, 1612 Marine, 1621
Marine, 1615 Mar1ne, 1607 Marine, 441 - 24th Street. 1435 Marine,
1663 Ocean Ave I,ue , 1717 Ocean Avenue and 1 711 Ocean Avenue. all
within the City of Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 5600 et seq. of
said code, :: he City Council does hereby order and declare that on
the 14th day of December, 1982, at 7:30 P.M. , in the Council
Chambers of the City Ha 11 , it will hear and pass upon the report
by the Superintendent of Streets of the cost of repair, together
with any obj ections or protests, if any, which may be raised by
any property owner liable to be assessed for the cost of such
repair and any at he r interested persons.

SECTION 3. That all protests or objections must be in
wrl.ting and fl.led wi t h the City Clerk on or be for e the time set
for hearing of pr ot est s and obJections.
SECTION 4. The Supe ri nt ende nt of Streets is hereby
directed to mail not ices I in the manner and form prescrl.bed by
1 aT"" , of the cost of repair and of the adoption of this resolutl.on
to all persons owning real property affected by the sidewalk
assessment repair program, whose names and addresses appe ar on the
last equalized assessment roll for the City taxes or as known to
the City Cl e r k .
SECTION 5. The Ci ty Clerk shall certify to the adoptl.on
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full fo r ce and effect.
