Background ,
On October 9, 1979, the Cl ty Councll approved a sldewalk repair
program wh 1 c h provlded for property owner partlclpatlon 1 n the
cost of repalr1ng damaged sldewalks. Property owner partlc1patlon
lS 50% of the cost of the repa 1 rs lf the damage 1 s related to tree
root s ; the Clty pays the remalnlng 50% of the cost of the repal r.
Property owners are assessed 100% of the cost lf the damage i s not
related to tree root s .
Certaln repalr work has been completed at the following addresses
and the property owners' share of the costs are now due: 1125 Bay,
1131 Bay, 1137 Bay, 1201 Bay, 1209 Bay, 849 Ocean, 835 & 843 Bay,
842 Bay, 852 Bay, 820 Bay, 824 Bay, 821 Bay, 601-613 Wilshire, 833
Bay, 1008 17th St. , 633 Dc e an, 617 Ocean, 1113 Bay, 525 Wl1shlre,
and 1530 W1lshlre. A publlC hean ng must be held pursuant to
provlslons of D1V1Sl0n 7 , Chapter 22, Sectlons 5600 to 5630, of
the St reets and Highways Code for the State of Californla. A

OF SANTA MONICA SETTING A HEARING DATE FOR ANY
PROTESTS OR OBJECTIONS TO THE REPORT OF THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS REGARDING REPAIR OF
SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS AND CURBS. (SR-84-55)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY
~ESOL VE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. That the Superlntendent of Streets wl11 f,l e
a rep 0 rt of repalr pursuant to Section 5617 of the Streets and
H 1 9 hw ay s Code of the State of Callfornia, relatlng to the
constructlon of certaln lmprovements to sldewaiks and drlveways at
1125 Bay, 1131 Bay, 1137 Bay, 1201 Bay, 1209 Bay, 849 Ocean, 835 &
843 Bay, 842 Bay, 852 Bay, 820 Bay, 824 Bay, 821 Bay, 601-613

SECTION 2. That pursuant to Sectlon 5600 et seq. of
sald code, the Ci ty Council does hereby order and declare that on
the 14th day of February, 1984, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council
Chambers of the C 1 ty Ha 1 1 , 1 t wi 11 hear and pass upon the report
by the Superlntendent of Streets of the cost of repair, together
with any obJ ect ions or protests, lf any, which may be ralsed by
any property owner liable to be assessed for the cost of such
repair and any other lnterested persons.

SECTION 3. That all protests or object10ns must be 1n

SECTION 4. The Superlntendent of Streets i s hereby
dl rected to ma 11 notlces, in the manner and form prescrlbed by
1 a w, of the cost of repalr and of the adoption of this resolutlon
to all persons QWnlng real property affected by the sldewalk
assessment repair program, whose names and addresses appear on the
last equallzed assessment ro 11 for the City taxes or as known to
the Clty Cl e rk.
SECTION 5. The Clty C 1 e rk shall certlfy to the adopt1on
of thlS resolut1on and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be 1n fu 11 force and effect.
