Introduct1on
Th1.3 report requests the city Counc11 set a publlC hear H~g for
June 20, 1'::)84, to hear protests regardl.ng the work and conflrm
the assessments of the cost to repalr damaged sl.dewalks,
dr1v~ways and curos.

On Octooer 9, 1979, the Cl.ty CounCll approved a si.:1ewalk repal.r
program wnlch prov1.ded for property owner partl.cipatl.on 1n the
C03L.. of repalrlng da:naged s1.dewalks. Resl.dentl.al property owner
part1.cl.pat1.on l.S 50% of the cost of the repal.rs 1.f the damage 1.5
related to tree roots; the Cl.ty pays the rema1.nl.ng 50% of the
cost of the repa1.r. Property owners are assessed 100% of the
cost 1f the damage 1.S not related to tree roots and cortunercl.al
property owners are assessed 100% of the cost regardless of the
cause of toe damage.
