REPAIR OF DAMAGED SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS. CURBS AND/OR REMOVAL
OF OBSTRUCTIONS, PERFORHED UNDER PROVISIONS OF DIVISION 7,
CHAPTER 22, SECTIONS 5600 TO 5630, OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS
CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA (SR-85-60)
Pursuant to the provlslor.S of DIV1Sior. 7, Chapter 22, Sect lor,s
5600 of 5630, of the Streets ard Hlghways Code of the State of
Califorraa, the followHig work was caused to be done by the Street
Super u:ter.der.t:
The removal ar:d ~eplacement of 541 square feet of PC cor:crete
o~ sldewalks at $4 per square foot; ar:d
The removal al'id replacemer.t of 110 square feet of PC cor:crete
or. drlveways at $5 per square foot; ar:d
The removal and replacement of 12 lH1eal feet of PC corcrete
curb and gutter at $12 per 1 H,eal foot; ar:d
The removal of 21 .5 llneal feet of PC cor'crete parkway at $2
per square foot.
The total cost of the above work was $2,901.00
The total p~o po sed assesment for the above SIdewalk ard curb
d am age IS $1,450.50 or 50 percert of the total co st. The other 50
percer:t of the cost IS beIng paId by the CIty as the above repaIrs
were caused by tree root damage.
Reference IS made to the attached sheets for a descrIptlon of
the real property lr front of wh1.ch the work has been dare, the

WHEREAS, the Street SuperIntendent of the CIty of Sarita
Monica, pursuant to SectIon 5600 to 5630 of the Streets and H "jghway s
Code, commerced proceedlngs to cause the repaIr of damaged sidewalks,
driveways ar;d curbs In the CIty of Sar.ta Mor.lca at 1515 Maple Street,
1516 Maple Street, 1507 PaclflC Street, 1411 PaciflC Street, 1419
Pacific Street, 1412 PacIfIC Street, 1415 PacIfIC Street, 1501 PacIfIc
Street, 1418 PacIflc Street, 1516 PacIfIC Street all withir the CIty
of Santa Horica.
WHEREAS, SIxty days aft er saId ord er was served, the work had
not been completed by the owrers or persors lP possession of the
affected properties, ar.d the Superlr.tendert of Streets caused the work
to be done; and
WHEREAS, the SuperIrter:dent of Streets gave the r:otice
required by SectIon 5616 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
\iHEREAS, the Superlntendert of Streets dId fIle with the City
CounCIl of the City of Santa Monica hIS report of repairs and cost as
required by Section 5617 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, upon the day and hour fixed for hearlr.g by ResolutIon

and passed upon the report of the Superlnter.der.t of Streets together

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA HONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the report of the SuperH:tendent of Streets
heretofore flIed ar,d above-descrIbed be and the same IS hereby
confIrmed.
SECTION 2. That all protests and objectIons of every kJf'd and
nature to the report of the Superir:ter:dent of Streets be and the same
are hereby overruled ard der.ied.
SECTION 3. That the cost of the repaIrs, as set forth In the
report of the Superlnterder.t of St~eets, shall be assessed agaInst the
propertIes therelr descrIbed, which propertIes fror:;t upon the sIdewalk
upon which the repaIrs were made.
SECTION 4. That If such assessment IS not paId WIthIn the
tIme pe~mltted by law. the same shall COr.stltute a speCIal assessmer:t
agaInst and ller:; on the propertIes thereIn described, If the amount
set for th In the report of the Superlr.tef"lder:t of St!"eets, which lIen
shall cOf"ltir:ue untIl the assessment ar:d all interest ther eon is paId
or until It IS dIscharged of record.
SECTION 5. That If the assessment IS not paId WIthIn the tIme
permItted by law, the Super H:ter.den t of Streets, ir. accordance WIth
Sectior. 5628 of the Streets and HIghways Cede, shall delIver a Notlce
of Lien, prepared In the marner required by SectIon 5626 of the
Streets and HIghways Code, to the Courty AudItor wh~-shall collect the
assessmert together WIth all other taxes agaInst the property.
