SUBJECT: Resolution SettIng a PublIC HearIng for September 10,
1985, on the Assessment of Costs to RepaIr Damaged
SIdewalks, DrIveways, and Curbs on VarIOUS Streets

IntroductIon
ThIS report requests the CIty CounCIl set a publIC hearIng for
September 10, 1985, to hear protests regardIng the work and
conf17'm the assessments of the cost to repair damaged sidewalks,
drIveways and curbs.
_~Clckground
On October 9, 1979, the CIty CounCIl approved a SIdewalk repaIr
program WhIch provIded for property owner partlcipatlor.. In the
cost of repalrHlg damaged SIdewalks. ResIdential property owner
partlclpatlon IS 50% of the cost. of the repalrs If the damage IS
related to tree roots; the CIty pays the remaInIng 50% of the
cost of the repaIr. Property owners are assessed 100% of the
cost If the damage IS not related to tree roots and commerCIal
property owners are assessed 100% of the cost regardless of the
cause of the damage.
CertalD repair work has been completed at the folloWIng addresses
and the property owners' share of the costs IS now due for the
fOlloWIng propertIes: 1714 Sunset Ave. , 833 Maple St., 1002 PICO

RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

report of repaIj' pursuant to SectIon 5617 of the Streets and
HIgh'.-/ays Code of the State of CalIfornIa, relatIng to the

to all persons OWr.lrlg real property affected by the sIdewalk
assessmer.t repair program, whose names and addresses appear on
the last equalIzed assess~ent roll for the City taxes or as known
to the CIty Clerk.
SECTION 5. The CIty Clerf:: 511all certIfy to the adopting
of thls ResolutIon and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
