on the Assessment of Costs to RepaIr Damaged Sidewalks,
DrIveways, and Curbs on VarIOUS Streets (SR-86-84)

ThIs report requests the CIty CouncIl set a publIC hearIng for
July 22, 1986, to hear protests regardIng the work and confIrm
the assessments of the cost to repair damaged sIdewalks,
drIveways and curbs.

On October 9, 1979, the CIty CouncIl approved a sIdewalk repaIr
program WhIch provIded for property owner partICIpatIon In the
eost of repairIng damaged sIdewalks. ResIdentIal property owner
partICIpatIon IS 50% of the cost of the repaIrs If the damage IS
related to tree roots; the CIty pays the remaInIng 50% of the
cost of the repaIr.. Property owners are assessed 100% of the
cost If the damage IS not related to tree roots and commercIal
property owners are assessed 100% of the cost regardless of the
cause of the damage.
CertaIn repaIr worK has been completed at the folloWIng addresses
and the property owners' share of the cost IS now due for the
folloWIng propertIes: 2215 MarIne Street, 228 EuclId Street,
2101 Ashland Avenue, 238 19th Street, 1625 Ashland Avenue, 434
14th Street, 2504 32nd Street, 1002 waShIngton Avenue, 404 2lst
Street, 1620 Ashland Avenue, and 1410 15th Street. '-P

Sect10ns 5600 to 5630, of the Streets and HIghways Code of the
State of Cal1fornla. A ResolutIon settIng the publ1C hearIng for

derlved from thIS assessment dlstrlct over the next two years,

RecommendatIon
It IS recommended the Clty CouncIl adopt the attached ResolutIon
setting a publIC hearIng for July 22, 1986, on the assessment of
costs of the sUbJect sldewalk repalrs.
