TO: Mayor and C1ty CounCll 6-E OCT 1 1985 FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Appl1catlon for B1cycle and Pedestrlan Funds Authorized Under SB821 Introductlon ThlS report recommends Clty Council adopt a Resolutlon approv1ng the appllcation for $23,558 of b1cycle and pedestrlan funds author1zed under SB821, and increase revenues in account number 20-932-311-000-000 by $2,058. Background Senate Blll 821 provides that two percent of each County's total Transportatlon Development Act Funds be annually set aside and used to fund the development of blcycle and pedestr1an faci11ties. These funds are made ava1lable to all cit1es and upon the approval of app11cation may be used at the Clty'S d1scret10n. The C1ty has used 1ts share of these funds in the past to install b1kelanes on Ocean Avenue, San V1cente Boulevard, Barnard Way and segments of Montana Avenue, Pearl Street, Ocean Park Boulevard. The Clty also has used these funds for maintenance and upgrading of pedestrian signals throughout the Clty.
