Introductl.on
ThlS report requests the Clty CouncIL set a publlC hear1ng for
January 14, 1986, to hear protests regardlng the work and conflrm
the assessments of the cost to repalr damaged sldewalks,
drlveways and curbs.

On October 9, 1979, the Clty Councll approved a sidewalk repaIr
program wnlcn provlded for property owner partlcipatlon ln the
cost of repalrlng damaged sidewalks. Residentlal property owner
part1c1pat10n is 50% of the cost of the repa1.rs if the damage is
related to tree roots; the CIty pays the rema1nlng 50% of the
cost of the repa1r. Property owners are assessed 100% of the
cost If the damage 1S not related to tree roots and commerClal
property owners are assessed 100% of the cost regardless of the
cause of the damage.
Certaln repair work has been completed at the followlng addresses
and the property owners' share of the cost 1.S now due for the
followlng propertIes: 2659 32nd Street, 2656 32nd Street, 2642
32nd Street, 2645 32nd Street, 265d 32nd Street, 2662 32nd
Street, 2666 32nd Street, 2636 32nd Street, 2680 32nd Street,

The f1.nancl.al analysis, which w1ll l.ndl.cate total revenues to be
der1ved from th1S assessment d1.str1.ct over the next two years,
will be presented to Clty Councl.l at the time of publlC hearlng.

code, the C1ty Council does hereby order and declare that on the
14th day of January, 1986, at 7:30 P.M., in the Counc11 Chambers
of the Cl ty Hall, it will hear and pass upon the report by the
Superintendent of Streets of the cost of repair, together with
any ob)ectJ.ons or protests, if any, which may be raised by any
property owner liable to be assessed for the cost of such repair
and any other interested persons.

SECTION 3. All protests or objections must be in writing
and filed w~th the CIty Clerk on or before the tIme set for
hearlng of protests and objectlons.
SECTION 4. The Superlntendent of Streets is hereby
dlrected to mall notlces, in the and form prescrlbed by --<:

law, of the cost of repalr and of the adoptlon of this Resolutlon
to all persons ownlng real property affected by the sidewalk
assessment repair program, whose names and addresses appear on
the last equalized assessment roll for the Clty taxes or as known
to the City Clerk.
SECTION 5. 'The Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the adopting .
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
