SR-603-002 'fA f;tH~12 2C:i PE:ATA MOU Amend.stfrpt.med.ins.1999-2001.bancroft.pms Santa Monica, California Council Meeting.: June 12,2001 TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Administrative Team Associates INTRODUCTION This report requests that Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an amendment to the Memorandum of Understand ing (MOU) with the Administrative Team Associates. BACKGROUND The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Administrative Team Associates (ATA) is in effect from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2001. All of the Miscellaneous (non-safety) City employees have elected to participate in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS) HealthCare Program as of July 1,2001 and be covered by an umbrella agreement which sets forth the medical insurance provisions for all Miscellaneous City employees. As a result, the current MOU between the City and AT A must be amended to implement that change. -1- J0~~~ 1 2 ~:1 ItA BUDGET/FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds are already included in the budget for FY2000-2001 to cover any costs associated with the amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Administrative Team Associates. All of the Miscellaneous (non- safety) City employees have elected to participate in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS) HealthCare Program as of July 1,2001 and be covered by an umbrella agreement which sets forth the medical insurance provisions for all Miscellaneous City employees.
