SR-603-003 I/A qm1 2 2C:l PE:A T A MOU Amend.stfrpt.med.ins.1999-2001.bancroft.pms Santa Monica, Calirorma Council Meeting: June 12, 2001 TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Administrative Team Associates INTRODUCTION This report requests that Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City Managerto execute an amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Administrative Team Associates. BACKGROUND The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Administrative Team Associates (ATA) is in effect from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2001. All of the Miscellaneous (non-safety) City employees have elected to participate in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS) HealthCare Program as of July 1,2001 and be covered by an umbrella agreement which sets forth the medical insurance provisions for all Miscellaneous City employees. As a result, the cu rrent MOU between the City and AT A must be amended to implement that change. -1- J:J!j 1 2 t::1 IIA BUDGET/FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds are already included in the budget for FY2000-2001 to cover any costs associated with the amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Administrative Team Associates. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Administrative Team Associates. BACKGROUND The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Public Attorneys' Legal Support Staff Union (ATA) is in effect from July 1,2000 through June 30, 2003. All of the Miscellaneous (non-safety) City employees have elected to participate in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS) HealthCare Program as of July 1,2001 and be covered by an umbrella agreement which sets forth the medical insurance provisions for all Miscellaneous City employees. As a result, the current MOU between the City and PALSSU must be amended to implement that change. BACKGROUND The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Municipal Employees Association (MEA) is in effect from July 1, 1998 through June 30, 2001. All of the Miscellaneous (non-safety) City employees have elected to participate in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS) HealthCare Program as of July 1,2001 and be covered by an umbrella agreement which sets forth the medical insurance provisions for all Miscellaneous City employees. BACKGROUND The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United Transportation Union, Local 1785 (AT A) is in effect from July 1, 1998 through June 30, 2002. All of the Miscellaneous (non-safety) City employees have elected to participate in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS) HealthCare Program as of July 1,2001 and be covered by an umbrella agreement which sets forth the medical insurance provisions for all Miscellaneous City employees.
