SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Public Attorneys' Legal Support Staff Union
INTRODUCTION
This report requests that Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City
Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (~OU) with the Public Attorneys'
Legal Support Staff Union.
BACKGROUND
The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Public Attorneys' Legal
Support Staff Union (PALSSU) expired on June 30, 2000. As per the terms and conditions
of the expired MOU, negotiations with PALSSU to replace the expired MOU commenced
and resulted in the attached MOU. This new agreement has been ratified by the
membership of PALSSU.
This agreement provides for the following: a cost of living increase for FYOO-01, FY01-02
and FY02-03; and some other minor economic and non-economic changes.

BUDGET/FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds are already included in the budget for FYOO-01 to cover any costs associated with
this agreement.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City
