SR-906-000 EPWM:CP:BS:AA:SA:[s:\sp1822\cc1822a.doc] Santa Monica, California Council Meeting: February 22, 2000 TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Construction Contract to Replace the Roof of the Main Locker Building at 415 Pacific Coast Highway Introduction This report recommends that the City Council award a construction contract to replace the roof of the Main Locker Building at 415 Pacific Coast Highway to Coast Roofing Co., Inc. in the amount of $39,003 and approve $9,750 in contingency funds for the contract. Background During the FY 1994-95 budget process, City Council approved funding to evaluate potential uses for the 415 Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) site. The new membrane will be an underlayment for the roofing shingles that will be installed during the future restoration of the Main Locker Building. 1 Discussion A Notice Inviting Bids for replacing the roof of the Main Locker Building at 415 Pacific Coast Highway was published on December 19 and 23, 1999, in Our Times, as well as in four construction journals.
