A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA ORDERING TM- VACATION
OF A PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN STRB�-'.i KNOWN
AS S IXTEEITH STREET IN THh' CITY OF SANTA
kOItICA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF T!TX CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOM RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS!
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa
Monica, having heard the evidence offered in relation to the proposed
vacation of all of that portion of that certain street known as
Sixteenth Street, as follows:
Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 1, Block A,
Erkenbrecher Syndicate Santa Monica Tract, as recorded in
Book 6, Pages 26 and 27 of Maps of Los Angeles County;
thence northwesterly along the southwesterly line of
Sixteenth Street to the southeasterly line of the Southern
Pacific Railroad Company Right of Way, 100 feet wide; thence
northeasterly along said southeasterly line of said Rift
of Way to the northeasterly line of said Sixteenth Street;
thence southeasterly along said northeasterly line of
Sixteenth Street to the most westerly eorner or Lot z,
Block B, Erkenbrecher Syndicate Santa Konica Tract; thence
southwesterly to the point of beginning,
hereby finds from all of the evidence submitted that the portion
of the street above referred to and proposed to be vacated by
Resolution No.,561 (City Council Series) is unnecessary for present
or prospective street purposes.
SECTION 2. That the public convenience and necessity
require the reservation of all the hereinafter described area for
easement in, upon, ovor and across the hereinafter described portion
of said street to be vacated, for the purpose of laying, maintaining,
repairing, replacing, relocating, constructing, operating, renewing,

or enlarging of facilities of public utilities, specifically, the
Southern California Edison Company and the Associated Telephone
Company, Limited. All proceedings relative to the vacation of said
portion of Sixteenth Street are taken subject to the reservation of
such easement for such purposes.
The easement reserved hereby from that portion of Sixteenth
Street to be vacated, as described in Section 1 hereof, shall be an
easement fourteen feet in width being the northeasterly fourteen feet
of that portion of Sixteenth Street to be vacated and extending the
full length of that portion of Sixteenth Street to be vacated as
described in Section 1 hereof.
SECTION 3. For full particulars reference hereby is made
to said Resolution No. 561 (City Council Series) and to the map on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; which map is
entitled: "Kap Showing Portion of Sixteenth Street to be Vacated
Under the Provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941.", dated
October 26, 1950. p;
IT THEREFORE IS ORDERED That said portion of said street
be and the same hereby is vacated and said assonant for said purposes
hereby is reserved.
SECTION 4, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
Of this resolution and the some shall be in full force and effect on
and after November 28, 1950. The City Clerk shall alio cause a copy
of this resolution to be recorded in the office of the Cpunty Recorder
of the County of Lor Angeles.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 28th day of NOvember , 1950.
