A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENTS
ACCEPTING FUNDING FROM THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY CHILDREN &
FAMILIES FIRST- PROPOSITION 10 COMMISSION
WHEREAS, State law requires water providers with over 10,000 service
connections to fluoridate their water supplies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has over 10,000 service
connections; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded up to $1,000,000 for the purpose
of fluoridating its water supply by the Los Angeles County Proposition 10
Commission; and
WHEREAS, a resolution is necessary fo accept the funding.
The City Council of the City of Santa Monica does hereby resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica authorizes the
City Manager or his/her designee to accept grant funding and to execute
agreements to accept financial assistance from The Los Angeles County
Children & Families First -Proposition 10 Commission for the construction of
fluoridation facilities for the fluoridation of the City of Santa Monica's Charnock
Well Field water.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica authorizes the
City Manager or his/her designee to designate the Water Resources Manager to
execute and submit non-financially binding documents related to said grant
funding.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
