RESOLUTION NO. 248 (PAS)
(PARKING AUTHORITY)
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PARKING
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE
TRANSFER OF CERTAIN FUNDS TO THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica (the "City") desires to construct, install
and/or acquire certain capital improvements to the Santa Monica Pier (the "Project"), a
portion of which will benefit the provision of and access to public parking on the Santa
Monica Pier; and
WHEREAS, repairs to the Santa Monica Pier would be of benefit to and faciliate
redevelopment of the Earthquake Recovery Redevelopment Project Area and is
consistent with the Amended and Restated Sale and Performance Agreement by and
among the City of Santa Monica, the Parking Authority of the City of Santa Monica, and
the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Monica for the Santa Monica
Downtown Parking Garage Acquisition and Retrofit Project, dated as of June 2003;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 32667 of the Parking Law of 1949 (commencing
with Section 32500 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California), the
legislative body of the City of Santa Monica may by two-thirds vote adopt a resolution
transferring property of the Parking Authority to the City; and
WHEREAS, the Parking Authority desires to transfer $1,630,539 to the City to
pay for a portion of the Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE PARKING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA, as follows:
Section 1. All of the recitals Herein contained are true and correct and the
Board so finds.
Section 2. The Parking Authority hereby directs staff to transfer funds in the
amount of $1,630,539 to the City for deposit into the Pier Fund for use by the City in
connection with completing the Project.
Section 3. The Authority Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 248 (PAS) was duly adopted at
a joint meeting of the Santa Monica City Council and the Parking Authority Series held
on the 17th day of June, 2008, by the following vote:
