RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF SANTA
MONICA AUTHORIZING THE. TRANSFER OF CERTAIN FUNDS O F
THE PARKING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA TO
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica (the "City") desires to construct, install
and/or acquire certain capital improvements to the Santa Monica Pier (the "Project"); a
portion of which will benefit the provision.of and access to public parking on the Santa
Monica Pier; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 32667 of the Parking Law of 1949 (commencing
with Section 32500 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California), the
legislative body of the City of Santa Monica may by two-thirds vote adopt a resolution
transferring property of the Parking Authority to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to transfer $1;630;539 to the City to pay for
a portion of the Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE PARKING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA, as follows:
Section 1. All of the recitals herein contained are true and correct and the
Board so finds.
Section 2. The City Council .hereby directs staff to transfer funds in the amourit
of $1,630,539 to the City for deposit into the Pier Fund for use by the City in connection
with completing the Project.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
