A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AMENDMENT DOCUMENTS AND THE
SIGNING OF CONTRACT AMENDMENTS TO PROVIDE MEAL AND TELEPHONE
REASSURANCE SERVICES FOR ELDERLY PERSONS
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles Community and Senior Services has been
awarded Federal funds for providing services for the elderly under the Older Americans
Act; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles is making available its Older Americans Act
funds to cities in the county; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica wishes to receive Older Americans Act funds to
finance its hot lunch program for seniors and its home delivered meals and telephone
reassurance programs for homebound seniors; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Council of the City of Santa Monica designate
and authorize a representative to sign contract amendments for Older Americans Act
funds on behalf of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council approves the signing of contract amendments to receive
County of Los Angeles for Older Americans Act funds to be used for the City's hot lunch
program for seniors and its home delivered meals and telephone reassurance program
for homebound seniors.

SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to sign contract
amendments for Older Americans Act funds and all documents necessary to
accompany said contract during the 2007-08 Fiscal Year.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
