SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
JULY 10, 2001
A special meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was called to order by Mayor Feinstein at
9:20 p.m., on Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at City Council Chambers, 1685 Main Street.

CONVENE
On order of the Mayor, the special meeting was convened at 9:20 p.m., with
all Councilmembers present.
INITIATIVES AND
REFERENDA REFORM
13-A: Introduction and first reading of an ordinance establishing
disclosure requirements during the signature-gathering period for
initiatives and referenda in the City of Santa Monica.
(To be considered with item 7-C on the regular City Council agenda.)
The Mayor advised that the purpose for this special meeting was to be able
to discuss the subject matter in the event that the7-C item on the regular
Council agenda did not meet the Brown Act requirements for discussion.
The Mayor further advised that the City Attorney ruled that the 7 -C item on
the regular Council agenda contained language broad enough to allow this
discussion, and for this reason it is no longer necessary to hold a special
meeting.
Motion bv Councilmember Genser. seconded bv Councilmember McKeo~
to adjourn the special meeting. The motion was unanimously approved by
voice vote.
