PARKING AUTHORITY MINUTES

Special Meeting
7:30 p.m., Tuesday~ July 25~ 1978
The Parking Authority of the City of Santa Monica met in Special Session at
the above-named time and place.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Donna O. Swink, John Bambrick, Christine Reed, Seymour A.
Cohen, Perry Scott, Nathaniel Trives, Pieter van den Steen haven
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: James D. Williams~ City Manager
E. Douglas McAteer, City Engineer
Richard L. Knickerbocker~ City Attorney
J. J. Wrenn, Parking & Traffic Engineer
ITEM 1 - PROPOSED PARKING FEE INCREASES - lOTS 3 AND 4
Mr. Williams explained the proposed monthly and hourly parking fee increases
on Lots 3 and 4. Dick Caruso, a Wilshire Blvd. merchant, spoke in favor of
raising the rates. Following a general discussion, during which Mr. Wrenn
answered questions from the Authority, Mrs. Reed moved to approve the recom-
mendation of the adminlstration. The motion was seconded by Mr. Bambrick
and passed with the following vote:
AYES: MEMBERS: Swink~ Bambrick, Cohen, Reed, Scott~ Trives~
van den Steenhoven
NOES: MEMBERS: None

ITEM 2 - RESOLUTION SETTING PARKING STRUCTURE RENTAL CHARGE FOR FISCAL YEAR
1978-79
Mr. Trives moved to adopt the staff recommendation to pass a resolution
setting the Parking Structure rental charge for Fiscal Year 1978-79. Mrs.
Reed seconded the motion and it passed with the following vote:
AYES: MEMBERS: Swink, Bambrick, Cohen~ Reed, Scott, Trives,
van den Steenhoven
NOES: MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: MEMBERS: None
There being no further business before the Parking Authority~ on motion by
Mr. Trives, seconded by Mr. Cohen and carried unanimously, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
