PARKING AUTHORITY MINUTES
COUNCIL CHAMBER, CITY HALL, SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA
REGULAR MEETING
7:25 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 1972
The Parking Authority of the City of Santa Monica met in Regular
Session at the above-named time and place.
MEf.1BERS PRESENT: Anthony Di turi, Robert Gabriel, Mrs. CIa Hoover,
John W. McCloskey, James B. Reidy, Jr.,
Arthur Rinck, Nathaniel Trives
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT; Perry Scott, City Manager
E. Douglas McAteer, city Engineer
Richard L. Knickerbocker, city Attorney
J. J. Wrenn, Parking & Traffic Engineer
Hearing no Ob)ect1ons, Chairman Dituri ordered approved as mailed
the minutes of the Regular Meeting dated April 11, 1972.
Chairman Dituri called a recess for the Parking Authority to enter
an Executive Session to discuss a negotiated settlement of a law
suit pending against the Parking Authority.
Upon return of the Parking Authority from the Executive Sessionl
Mr. Reidy moved that the Administration's recommendation be added to
the Authority agenda. It was seconded by Mr. Rinck and carried
unanimously. Mr. Scott explained that the City Attorney had nego-
tiated a settlement for $5,900 in the law suit in excess of $12,000
brought against the Parking Authority by the Van-Lar Construction
Company. Th~s suit was based upon payment withheld by the Parking
Authority when Van-Lar Construction Company built Parking Structures
3 and 4 ~
Mr. Gabriel moved that the Parking Authority accept the recommenda-
tion of the City Attorney for the negotiated settlement. It was
seconded by Itr. Trives and carried by the following vote:

Upon motion by Mr. Gabriel, seconded by Mrs. Hoover and carried
unanimously, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
