Counctlmember Greenberg moved to direct Planrung Department staff and Communny Development Department to work WIth the PolIce Department to develop a process to elIcIt the PolIce Department's mput for new projects and expansIOns and how to lItIgate the publIc safety nnpacts of these developments The motIon was duly seconded and adopted WIth Councllmember Rosenstem opposed CouncIlmember Genser moved to amend the motIon to ask staff to evaluate whether the CIty should be havmg some program m placmg handIcapped parkmg zones on the public streets III a more regular fashIOn III commerCial areas The motion was duly seconded and adopted unammously Councllmember Gense! moved to amend the motIon to dIrect staff to develop a program to address the panhandlIng Issue through educatIon and other means The motIon was accepted as fnendly Councllmember Genser moved to amend the motIOn to ask the Pollee Department to work WIth the CIty Manager's office to develop opportumhes to receIve community mput about problems m the commumty, neighborhoods, etc so that there can be dISCUSSIons on a more regular baSIS The motIon was seconded by Mayor Abdo and approved by the following vote CouncIl vote AffirmatIve Councilmembers Vazquez, Olsen.
