OCEAN PARK REDEVELOP~NT PROJECT: A special joint meeting of the
City Councll and Redevelopment Agency was held for the purpose of
conslderlng a recommendation for approval of the Ocean Park
Redevelopment Project off-site improvement plan. Presen~ed was a
staff report transmitting a recommendat~on for review of the
proposed Ocean Park Redevelopment ProJect off-slte lmprovement plan
and for d~rect~on to staff for evaluation and recommendat~on. A
presentation was given by ~oore Ruble Yudell Archltects and
Planners. D1Scussion was held. It was requested t~at staff
provide an in depth traffice analys~s of the entrances, exits, an~
traffic flow, including schematlcs, and a Police Depart~ent and
Fire Department report on the public safety aspects of the plan and
the basis on which determinations of safety are made.
Councilme~ber Conn ~oved to hear ~embers of the publ~c for three
~lnutes each. Second by Councl1member Zane. The motion was
approved by unanimous vote. The following persons spOKe ln regard
to the ~atter: Edga~ Rlrst, Hal Shulem, Jane Fleischer, Ed Tarvyd,
Max Reid, Harry Shearer, Janet Tunick, John Peterson, Connle

Schechtman, Bernice Marshal, Sharon Albistequi, Serbert Sandel,
George Lichterman, Sara Faulds, and Susan Cloke.

width of the pedestrian strip in regard to mechanical sweeping~ the
cost of beach maintenance if the plan was in place~ the possibility
of openlng the Bicknell entrance in the near futurei the
