Second by Councllmember Yannatta, Followlng discusslon, Councllmember Bambrick moved a substitute motion to approve ~undlng of all welfare and community pronot1on requests submitted to the ~ouncl1 for a total of $372,000; that is, the sums requested on page 270, ine 18, of the budget--$B7,000 for the Chamber of Commerce, $15,000 for 'eRN Radio Statlon, and $5,000 for the Sister Cltles Assoclatlon--as well, ~s $14,000 requested by the Santa ~onica Symphony and $3,500 requested I by the Symphony by the Sea, ln addltion to the requests by varlOUS agencles ~n page 274 of the budget which add up to S248,237. The motion failed for lack of a second. . Mayor Pro Tempore Reed moved to dlrect the staff to investlgate the data process needs of the Rent Control Board and report to the Clty Council regardlng the feasibllity of utIlizing CIty staff or an outSIde consultant before making such expenditure. Second by Mayor van den Steenhoven.
