A special meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was called to order by Mayor Bloom at 6:05
p.m., on Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at City Council Chambers, 1685 Main Street.

COUNCIL ITEMS:
On order of the Mayor, the City Council convened at 6:05 p.m., with
Councilmembers Holbrook and O'Connor absent. Jeff Mathieu, Director of
Resource Management, led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance.
CWSED SESSIONS: On order of the Mayor, the City Council recessed at
6:06 p.m., to consider closed sessions and reconvened at 7:16 p.m., with
Councilmembers Holbrook and O'Connor absent. Action taken on closed
sessions to be reported at the end of the meeting.
On order of the Mayor, the City Council recessed at 7: 16 p.m., to deliberate
on the matter continued from the meeting of May 11, 2004, and reconvened
to this special meeting at 10: 1 0 p.m., with Councilmembers Holbrook and
O'Connor absent.
13-A: Request of Councilmember Feinstein to direct staff to prepare
an ordinance restricting or eliminating curb cuts on developments
fronting 5th, 6th and 7th streets in the Downtown, was presented.
There was no one present for public comment.

ADJOURNMENT:
Motion by Councilmember Feinstein. seconded by Mayor Pro Tern
McKeown, to direct staff to prepare an ordinance restricting or eliminating
curb-cuts on developments fronting 5th, 6th and 7th Streets in the Downtown
with enumerated exceptions for Council to consider. The motion was
approved by the following vote:

Councilmembers Genser, Katz, Feinstein, Mayor Pro Tern
McKeown, Mayor Bloom
None
Councilmembers O'Connor, Holbrook
NOES:
ABSENT:
On order of the Mayor, the City Council recessed at 10:30 p.m. to consider
closed sessions and reconvened at 11 :09 p.m., to report the following:
2-A: Conference with Legal Counsel- Existing Litigation: City of
Santa Monica v. Baron & Budd. P.c., et aI., Case No. BC 315186.
ACTION:
Heard. No reportable action taken.
2-B: Conference with Legal Counsel- Existing Litigation: City of
Los Angeles v. Reliant Energy Services. Inc., Case No. BC 309392.
Motion by Councilmember Feinstein. seconded by Mayor Bloom, to join in
the above case. The motion was approved by the following vote:
