SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
APRIL 16, 2002
A regular meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was called to order by Mayor Feinstein at
5:45 p.m., on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at City Council Chambers, 1685 Main Street.

On order of the Mayor, the City Council convened at 5:45 p.m., with all members present. Mayor
Pro Tern McKeown led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance.
On order of the Mayor, the Study Session was held with an overview of the following:
Responsibilities of Council-appointed Boards and Commissions.
Role of City staff working with Boards and Commissions.
Role of Council Liaisons.
Role of Chair of Board or Commission.
Process for making recommendations to Council.
Discussion of the Brown Act, closed sessions, and conflict of interest.
On order ofthe Mayor, public comment from various board and commission members was received.

On order of the Mayor, the City Council recessed at 9:00 p.m., to discuss closed sessions, and
reconvened at 9: 15 p.m., to report the following action taken:

Company, Case No. OlCC04331.
ACTION:
Heard. No reportable action taken.
2-B: Conference with Legal Counsel- Anticipated Litigation.

Three cases heard. No reportable action taken.
There was no one present for public comment.
On order of the Mayor, the City Council meeting was adjourned at 9:16 p.m., to April 23, 2002.
