Proiects I (a), I (b) and P.O.P.
The Chairman stated that a Special Meeting had been called for
the purpose of authorizing the condemnation of certain parcels of
real property in the Pacific Ocean Park Redevelopment Project.
The Director stated that the Bankruptcy Court in the matter
of Matador Land Company, Debtor, had served the Agency and the
City of Santa Monica with an "Order to Show Cause" temporarily
restraining the Agency from leasing property in P.O.P. to Crescent
Bay Properties. He stated that Mr, George M. Treister, of the firm
of Quittner, Stutman, Treister & Glatt, had been retained by the
City and the Agency to act as Counsel in this matter because of
Mr. Treister's specialization in bankruptcy proceedings. He noted
that all legal counsels in this matter, Including the Agency and
City Attorneys, had advised immediate fi ling of an Eminent Domain
action in the P.O.P. Redevelopment Project as the most effective
means of removing the restraining order and avoiding any further
delays.
Discussion followed. Mr. Richey moved, seconded by Mr. Harding,
that Resolution No. 306 (R.A.S.), "A RESOLUT;ON OF THE REDEVELOPMHIT
