RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE SETTING OF A PUBLIC
HEARING TO CONSIDER THE DELEGATIO~ OF RESPONSIBILITY
FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE HOUSING UNITS LOCATED
AT 175 OCEAN PARK BOULEVARD, PURSUANT TO THE COASTAL
DEVELOPMENT PER~IT REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OCEAN PARK
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OR
CITY OF SANTA tIONICA.
WHEREAS I the Redevelopment Agency of the Clty of Santa
r~onica dld apply for and was granted Coastal Development Permlt
(No. A-3l8-76) on March 21 1977; and,
~lliEREASI sald Coastal Developroent Per~lt contains a conditlon
that "... (C2) The appllcant shall cause to be rehabll~tated the
eXlstlng 27 unlts of housing owned by the City of Santa Monlca located
at the northeast corner of Nellson Way and Ocean Park Boulevard. The
27 unlts shall contlnue to be used for housing for low income persons
for the useful llfe of the buildings, but in no event less than 20
years. As many unlts as feaslble shall be rehabllitated for low-lncoMe
familles...."; andl
WHEREAS I by an agree~ent dated March 311 1977, the
Redevelopment Agency agreed to comply with thlS conditlon: and
WHEREAS, the Agency has deter~lned that elther the Housing
Authorlty or the Clty of Santa Monlca, whlchever may acqulre tltle
to thlS property, F.ay better be able to undertake the rehabilitatlon
of the twenty-seven units.
NOWI THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA THAT:

SECTION 1. A publ1C hearing of the Redeveloproent Agency
of the C1ty of Santa Mon1ca 1S set for June 24, 1980, at 7:30 p.~.,
to be held ]olntly w1th the public hear1ngs of the City Councill
Housing Author1tYI and Park1ng Authority.
SECTION 2. The Agency shall cons1der whether the Housing
Author1ty of the C1ty of Santa Monica or the C1ty of Santa Mon1ca
may assume respons1bil1ty for rehab1l1tatlon of the twenty-seven
units located at 175 Ocean Park Boulevard.
SECTION 3. The Secretary of the Agency shall cause notlce
of th1S hear1ng to be publlshed In the Even1ng Outlook, a newspaper
of general clrculatlon, on the 10th day of June 1980, and on the
l7th day of June 19801 for the purpose of glv1ng lnterested persons
an opportunlty to be heard on the watter to be considered.
SECTION 4. The Chalr~an shall sign and the Secretary shall
attest to th1S resolutlonl and thereafter the same shall be In full
force and effect.
