CALIF.'R-37 AND PROJECT NO. CALIF. R~44 , ~..' -' - WHEREAS, it is necessary and In the public interest that the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Monica, California. avail Itself of additional financial assistance provided by Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, to carry out the urban renewal project described as Ocean Park Redevelopment Project, Calif. R-37, and to carry out the urban renewal project described as Ocean Park Redevelopment Project No. Calif. R-44, and bounded generally as described in Exhibits "A" and "B" (attached hereto). hereinafter referred to as the "ProJects", and WHEREAS, it is recognized that the Federal contract for such financial assistance pursuant to said Title I will impose certain obligations and reS- ponsibilities upon the Local Public Agency and will require among other things (1) the provision of local grants-in-aid and (2) other local obli- gations and responsibilities In connection with the undertaking and carrying out of urban renewal projects; and WHEREAS. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimi- nation On the basis of race, color or national origin under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance and Executive Order 11063 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed or national origin in sale, lease or other disposition of residential property (including land intended for residential use) or in the use or occupancy thereof; and WHEREAS, the objectives of the Redevelopment Plans cannot be achieved through more extensive rehabilitation of the project areas: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY Of THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA: I. That the United States of America and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development be. and they hereby are, assured or full compliance by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Monica with regulations or the Department of Housing and Urban Oevelopment effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and applicable Executive Orders. 2. That an amendatory application on behalf of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Monica for a loan under Section 102(a) of said Title 1 in an amount of $12,824,928 and a project capital grant to the full amount available for undertaking and financing the Projects is hereby approved, and that the Agency's Executive Director is hereby autho- rized and directed to execute and to file such amendatory application with the Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide such additional information and to furnish such documents as may be required in behalf of saId Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Monica; provided, that any amendment to the Loan and Capital Grant Contract is subject to Agency approval.
