Koar3 be required to complete the Statement of Economic Interests (Form
720) prepared by the State of California. Second by Councilrrcember Yannatta.

After discussion, Counci~member Yannatta moved that the ten candidates forl
interim Rent Control Board who are in the field after the initia3 ballot- i
ting process at the Council meeting of Liay 8, 1979, be publicl~~ inter- ~
vieNed at the meeting before the final votes are cast. Second by Council-i
member Bambrick for purposes of discussion. Follol~~ing discussion, ~Ia~-or
van den Steenhoven moved a substitu~e motion that the City Council preparel
questions to ask of all interim Rent Control Board applicants, that the ,
Council nominate ten candidates at a meeting to be held hiay 3, 1979,
interviei,~ five candidates at a meeting to be held Diay 4 and five applicants
at a meeting on titay 5, and select the five-meiaber Board at the Council
meeting of biay S, 1979. Second by Councilmember Bambrick. ~tiith the
consent of the second, Afayor van den Steenhoven moved an amendment to
provide that the Council conduct an initial ballot and intervie~~ ten
finalists at a meeting to be held at i:00 P.hl., T9ay 3, 1979.
